2024 was the second year students at Hoa Nghiem Buddhist School participated. The selected students made good growth, achieving 5 Distinctions across the various domains - our first set of Distinctions for the school. This outstanding achievement brings happiness to the entire community.
It is an amazing achievement as a Distinction places a student in the top 10% of the already high achieving international entrants in the competition. Well done to all students who participated and stretched their thinking this year in the very high standard of ICAS competition.
What's next? The inaugural 2025 ICAS All-Stars academic competition is a new initiative designed to bring academic recognition to a level of prestige comparable to state championships in athletics. The ICAS All-Stars competition builds on the tradition of the ICAS academic competition by offering students the opportunity to participate in the next level of ICAS and be celebrated as state champions. This exclusive event recognises the top academic achievers in the state, giving students a platform to showcase their skills and gain recognition at the highest level of competition.
13% of HNBC students who entered the ICAS competition have now progressed to the 2025 ICAS All Star Academic Championship (the ICAS State Championship).
Students will participate across all four domains, English, Mathematics, Writing and Spelling, with some students participating in multiple domains. Well-done to all students who accept this further challenge!
